This time of year we can satisfy a sweet tooth while altering between semlas and Runebergs tarts. I like semlas better, I had one for coffee this morning (yes, I ate some real breakfast too).They're made to celebrate before lent begins for Easter and are sold in Finland from after Christmas until at least the Shrove tuesday, which this year is 24th February.
Obviously I need to change the runner in the kitchen too, for something not so Christmassy. I've been waiting for us to spill something on it, so it could go to the washer and then back to the storage box to spend the ten months we have before it's Christmas time again.
